Usually underwater

This stump is usually a boating hazard.

Paddy's Glen

This area of the Murray River shows how low the water
level is.

And - oh yes - there were flies

At first I couldn't figure out what had gone wrong with
my camera!

Incredible trees

This one had dropped many branches due to drought.
Little Diarmid stands in front of it for perspective.

Boomanoomana State Forest

I sure love those Aussie names!

Mom, far away

As usual when Mom won't climb up to the
top with the rest of us, I take her photo.
This again shows how dry it is.

A plant flourishes even in the drought

Everywhere there is wood down, the trees dropping branches
in order to conserve their precious moisture for the main
trunks but also there are the lovely little flowers.

More of boat rock

Here are Diarmid, Mom and Garry at the largest
of the water-filled holes.

Boat Rock

Garry showed us Boat Rock, an aboriginal
sacred place where the aborigines had carved holes
in this rock. He said that in all the years that he
had been there, no matter how dry it was, there was
always water in the rock

He was watching us watching him

Garry tried to catch up to him

This is the track that we were chasing the roos
on, made Mom a bit nervous but it was great!

Oh there they are!

We saw a huge mob of roos and then they fled.
This was a wheat paddock prior to the drought.

We went kangaroo hunting with Garry

Look! Over there!
What do you mean over there? I can't see
anything!
